Resuscitation research and education practice evolve - and so should you. This one-day Instructor Recertification program is designed for registered nurses and healthcare professionals who hold current Instructor and ALS certification and are ready to refresh their knowledge, sharpen their teaching skills, and stay at the forefront of resuscitation education.

What to Expect

A focused single day covering the latest in resuscitation research and education practice, with time for peer connection alongside educators from across the country.

Program content includes:

  • Content delivery - didactic presentation techniques
  • Simulation scenario development and implementation
  • Debriefing as a learning tool
  • Conducting ALS assessments
  • ALS recertification (Adult or Paediatric based on current ANZCOR guidelines) Assessment Criteria
  • Peer networking with resuscitation educators

Included with registration:

  • Instructor reference manual (including self-directed exercises and practical tips)
  • Adult ALS manual
  • Access to pre-course quiz
  • All materials available via your MyACCCN account on receipt of paid registration

CPD Hours

  • Nursing staff: Up to 10 CPD hours (6 hours program contact + 4 hours self-directed learning)
  • Medical staff: Hours accredited through your medical college CPD home

Before You Attend

  • You must hold a current ALS or PALS certification completed within the last 12 months - this is a firm requirement for eligibility and recertification. Participants who attend without current certification will not be eligible to complete the course and no refund will be issued
  • If your certification was completed within the last 12–18 months, contact ACCCN prior to registering to discuss your circumstances
  • Instructor course certification must be completed every two years, if the certification is beyond this contact ACCCN prior to registering to discuss your circumstances
  • Review the Instructor program manual and the relevant ALS program manual which you will be recertifying in (Adult or Paediatrics). This ground your resuscitation practices in strong foundational knowledge essential to performing well in the course and ongoing in your practice
  • Complete the electronic pre-course quiz before the course - details sent on receipt of paid registration
