We are conducting a real-time Delphi study to achieve consensus on the tasks that can be delegated to deployed RNs in a surged ICU. This aims to inform targeted orientation and rapid upskill programs for ICU deployment during disaster response.
We seek ICU nurses who have had experience in preparation, training or supervision of deployed RNs for surge events. Participants must have had more than 5 years as a team leader in the ICU or be in an education or leadership position. Nurses who were not practicing in Australia during their surge event or who are not proficient in English will be excluded from participating in this survey.
The real-time Delphi study will involve contributing to an online survey on several occasions over a period of 6 weeks, starting on Tuesday the 26th of August, and concluding on Thursday the 9th of October, 2025.
