Exploring the perceptions and experiences of nurses with a chronic condition in a critical care setting.

Study Overview:
This study aims to better understand the unique challenges faced by critical care nurses living with chronic physical conditions. This research seeks to explore how chronic conditions affect nurses’ ability to perform their roles, manage their health, and navigate their career trajectories in high-pressure critical care environments.

Purpose of the Study:
The study is designed to gather insights into the experiences of nurses with chronic conditions working in critical care settings. By identifying both the barriers and the organisational supports that influence their ability to sustain a career in this demanding field, the study aims to contribute to improving workplace practices, policies, and support systems for nurses managing chronic health conditions.

Methodology:
This research will be conducted through an online survey. The survey includes questions about the impact of chronic conditions on physical health, role capacity, and the type of support needed to manage their health while working in critical care environments.

Who Can Participate:
We are inviting nurses who currently work or have worked in critical care settings (e.g., ICU, emergency department or perioperative) if you are an AHPRA registered nurse currently working in a critical care environment and have a physical chronic condition.

By participating in this study, you will contribute to valuable research aimed at improving the working conditions and career longevity of nurses with chronic conditions in critical care. Your responses will help shape the development of policies, support systems, and resources that can better assist you and your colleagues in managing health conditions while providing exceptional patient care.

How to Participate:
The survey can be accessed online through the provided link and/or QR code, and participation is voluntary. We encourage as many eligible nurses as possible to participate to ensure diverse and comprehensive results.
