Postgraduate scholarship – Department of Health
Funding is available for the Nursing and Midwifery postgraduate scholarship program under the Making it Free to study nursing and midwifery initiative. The funding for postgraduate scholarships will support registered nurses to undertake postgraduate study in areas of clinical practice where there is an identified workforce need.
Athea Jane Wilson scholarship – Deakin University
This scholarship offers tuition fee contribution payments for the normal full-time duration of the course and may also provide a cash payment. The minimum total scholarship value is $12,000 with the exact value to be confirmed at the time of offer.
Robyn Parkes Postgraduate Nursing Grant – University of South Australia
The grant will be offered to external postgraduate nursing students (Master of Nursing and Graduate Certificate in Nursing) from rural or isolated areas who are enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis and will provide financial assistance ($1,000) for the costs associated with undertaking postgraduate study.

Emerging Research Leader Program Scholarship – Australian College of Nursing

Emerging Policy Leader Program Scholarship – Australian College of Nursing
The ACN Emerging Policy Leader Program is your gateway to becoming a dynamic leader in nursing health policy. We’re the first nursing-specific health policy initiative in Australia.
Graduate Certificate Nursing Scholarship – Australian College of Nursing
Sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies – 20 scholarships available to undertake one of the ACN Graduate Certificate courses listed below. 5 scholarships are available to First Nations nurses, 5 are available to nurses working in rural and remote areas of Australia, and 10 scholarships are available for all candidates in the specified fields of study.

Course-fee Grants – Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation
You will be eligible to apply if you have been an ANMF (Vic Branch) member for at least two years – including as a student (including Diploma) or RUSON/M member – and you continue to be a member throughout your course. Grants will most likely be capped at a maximum of $3000 – the average amount given to all successful applicants so far

Elizabeth Hulme Higher Education Research Grant – Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Vic Branch)
The $10,000 higher education and research grant is available to members undertaking university higher degree study at PhD or Masters level by research (this grant is not available to those undertaking a Masters by coursework).
Diploma / Certificate IV / Short Courses – The Victorian Nurses and Midwives trust
Up to $5K to enable nurses and midwives with a minimum of 2 years in the workforce post degree to undertake post graduate short courses or activities that will enhance their practice. Applications for chronic disease management and nurses living in rural health would be viewed favourably.
John Monash Scholarship – John Monash Foundation
The John Monash Scholarship is unique as Australia’s own and most prestigious national postgraduate Scholarship award. Unlike other Scholarship awards, the John Monash Scholarships are not limited by age, academic field of study or choice of overseas university.
NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarships – The National Health and Medical Research Council
The NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarships scheme funds successful applicants to attain a research based postgraduate degree – Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or a Research Masters Degree.
Postgraduate Nursing and Midwifery Scholarships – NSW Health
Scholarships of up to $10,000 are offered to registered nurses and midwives who are studying a postgraduate course. The scholarships help with course costs directly associated with postgraduate study. They are open to those working in full- or part-time positions in the NSW Health. Casual employees may also be eligible. The amount of the scholarship is based on the postgraduate qualification that you’re studying:
- Graduate Certificate: up to $6,000
- Graduate Diploma: up to $8,000
- Masters Program: up to $10,000
Health Workforce Scholarship Program – Health Workforce Queensland
Bursary: Payments of up to $10,000 within a 12-month period that covers the cost of course fees and training related expenses such as travel and accommodation where appropriate. Including online or face-to-face: short courses, workshops, and conferences.
Scholarship: Payments up to $10,000 per year can be provided for up to two years, to attain a post graduate qualification of either a postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma, Master or PhD.
