POSITION TITLE: ACCCN Government and Partnerships Coordinator

POSITION PURPOSE: Government & Partnerships Coordinator provides coordination, grant writing and administrative support to strengthen ACCCN’s relationships with government, strategic partners, funding bodies, charitable
organisations and other external stakeholders.

Working closely with the CEO and National Operations Manager, the role coordinates stakeholder engagement activities, funding opportunities, partnership initiatives and related administrative processes to support ACCCN’s strategic objectives.

EMPLOYMENT BASIS: Permanent part-time 24 hours per week
Reporting to National Operations Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Government relations

  • Monitor and analyse government policy and program developments and grant opportunities and advise on implications for ACCCN and the critical care nursing profession.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder mapping identifying key government decision-makers and influencers.
  • Support the development and implementation of ACCCN advocacy priorities and government engagement activities.
  • Attend and support ACCCN representation at relevant consultations, forums and stakeholder meetings as delegated.
  • Prepare briefing materials and correspondence for ACCCN representatives.
  • Coordinate input and expertise to develop government and consultation submissions.
  • Coordinate engagement and maintain productive relationships with key government, funding and sector stakeholders.
  • Support the coordination of advocacy activities and consultation processes with government agencies and other external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and prepare grant applications and supporting documentation in consultation with relevant ACCCN staff and representatives.
  • Manage reporting, evaluation and acquittal requirements of successful grants.
  • Maintain accurate records of stakeholder engagement, grant applications and reporting requirements.


Partnerships, Charity & Philanthropy development

  • Identify and map potential partnerships, charitable and philanthropic opportunities and contribute to the development and implementation of partnership frameworks aligned with ACCCN’s strategic priorities.
  • Support the CEO in maintaining relationships with key stakeholders by preparing briefing materials, proposals, presentations and correspondence.
  • Coordinate agreed partnership, charitable and philanthropic activities and ensure deliverables are progressed within required timeframes.
  • Manage routine communication and follow-up with partners on required projects.
  • Maintain records of partnership activities, donations and funding outcomes.


Administration Support

  • Monitor approved project, partnership and grant budgets and advise the reporting manager of any potential variances.
  • Provide secretariat support to relevant meetings and committees, including scheduling meetings and preparing agendas and meeting papers.
  • Monitor and record meeting outcomes, maintain action registers and follow up outstanding items. Prepare reports and updates for the CEO and Board as required.
  • Identify practical improvements to ACCCN’s systems and processes for managing government, partnership, funding, grants and charitable activities.


Key Performance Indicators

Performance will be assessed against the following outcomes:

  • Government, funding, partnership and philanthropic opportunities are identified, assessed and communicated to the CEO within appropriate timeframes.
  • High-quality grant applications, submissions, briefing materials, correspondence and reports are prepared accurately and delivered on time.
  • Partnership, stakeholder engagement, advocacy and funded project activities are effectively coordinated, with agreed deliverables progressed and reporting obligations met.
  • Stakeholder, partnership and grant records are maintained accurately, with all key actions, deadlines, reporting requirements and acquittals monitored and actioned.
  • Meeting, committee and stakeholder forums are effectively coordinated, with actions recorded, monitored and followed through to completion
  • Positive and productive relationships are maintained with government representatives, funding bodies, partners and other key stakeholders, with timely advice provided to CEO on emerging opportunities, risks and policy developments.


Key Selection Criteria / Skills

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience supporting stakeholder engagement, advocacy, partnerships or funding initiatives, including collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in government relations, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, executive support or administration with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within competing deadlines.
  • Highly developed written communication skills, including experience preparing grant applications, funding proposals, briefing papers, submissions, reports and professional correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and synthesise information, including government policy, funding opportunities and stakeholder requirements, to support organisational objectives.
  • Proven ability to coordinate projects, partnerships and stakeholder activities, including tracking actions, milestones and reporting requirements through to completion.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail, including maintaining accurate records, registers, action logs and reporting schedules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using databases, CRM systems and other digital platforms to manage information and stakeholder engagement.


Desirable

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in public policy, communications, business, health project management or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with government departments, elected representatives, corporate partners, funding bodies, charitable organisations or philanthropic trusts.
  • Exposure to public policy, advocacy or consultation processes including stakeholder engagement and submission development.
  • Understanding of grant management processes, including application development, reporting, monitoring and acquittal requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Australian healthcare, nursing or professional association sector.
