Position Summary
The role of Critical Care Coordinator for the Regional Emergency and Critical Care Strengthening Initiative (RECSI) is integral to delivering a multifaceted program as part of an emergency and critical care consortium, within the Partnerships for a Healthy Region initiative. Our goal is to enhance the capacity of emergency and critical care services in Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Region.
The RECSI Critical Care Coordinator plays a key role in overseeing the comprehensive implementation of the RECSI critical care program. Responsibilities include: ensuring adherence to project timelines, development and maintenance of governance standards, and planning and delivery of program requirements.
The Critical Care Coordinator will collaborate closely with the RECSI Critical Care Clinical Leads, RECSI Program Manager and report directly to the RECSI Critical Care Program Lead. They will also work closely with the Emergency Program and Clinical Leads, and the Emergency Care Discipline Coordinator to ensure seamless integration and alignment with broader program objectives. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on critical care provision in the region, contributing to the advancement of healthcare delivery and improved health outcomes for patients.
Key Capabilities
- Demonstrated experience in international program or project management
- Tertiary qualification in international development, global health, public health, public policy, social sciences, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in implementing global health, public health, or international development projects with strong project management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ability to engage effectively with a diverse group stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cultural competency in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) with the ability to navigate various cultural landscapes.
- Experience in financial management, proposal development, cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Project planning and implementation:
- Lead the development of activities in collaboration with Critical Care Clinical Leads and in alignment with the approved outputs in the RECSI Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Framework.
- Lead the implementation of RECSI critical care activities in accordance with the RECSI Program Plan.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including consortium partners, local healthcare workforce and authorities, to facilitate collaboration and support for critical care interventions.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor the RECSI critical care activities delivered, ensuring activity objectives are met, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to maximise the impact of the critical care activities delivered.
- Budget Management: Manage the project budget effectively to optimise the delivery of the identified critical care activities within the approved budget.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Manage the collection and analysis of data to assist with the impact evaluation of the RECSI critical care activities. Provide input into the impact evaluation of the RECSI program across emergency and critical care.
