This research project aims to explore and better understand the experiences of junior nurses as they transition and adapt to working in intensive care units (ICUs).
If you choose to participate, you will be invited to take part in a confidential interview via Zoom (approximately 45 minutes). During the interview, you will be asked to share your experiences, challenges, and insights related to adapting to the ICU environment. The study focuses specifically on junior ICU nurses during their transition and adaptation phases to gain an in-depth understanding of their experiences.
By sharing your journey, you will contribute valuable knowledge that can help strengthen and support the critical care nursing workforce. Your participation will not only assist in building a more sustainable, skilled, and satisfied ICU nursing community but also provide you with an opportunity to reflect on your professional growth and development.
To participate in this research project, you need to meet the following criteria:
• Registered nurses (RNs) currently employed in an adult ICU setting in Australia, either full-time or part-time.
• Have between six months and three years of total ICU experience, including those currently enrolled in a Transition Support Programme (TSP) or postgraduate intensive care nursing programme.
• Willing to voluntarily participate in a confidential research interview.
